PECK AT THIS>

Imbuing reckless speed and ferocity with an overpoweringly heavy low end for a cataclysmic onslaught of emotive heft and relentless fortitude, Reckling’s sonic alloy incorporates alt-rock elements as a means tempering white-hot aggression like forge-fresh steel submerged in a frigid bath, expelling gouts of hissing steam to emerge glistening and razor sharp.
Comparisons can be drawn with alt-grunge godheads and riot grrrl queens from decades past; a hint of Hole, a smattering of Bikini Kill, a bit of 7 Year Bitch, even a smidge of Sleater-Kinney. But Reckling doesn’t rest among the accomplishments of their forebears, instead rummaging around those groundbreaking sounds to develop a unique presence, amalgamizing an identity of their own from the wild and disparate grooves sourced from dusty boxes of tattered singles in the back corner of a record store.
We caught up with Kelsey Reckling to discuss what drives her creative process, and how Reckling as a band has grown as part of the community and culture of LA.
