PIGEON Magazine is independently created, owned, and operated. We’re a small operation and putting the creator first in everything that we do, and at no cost to them. We proudly promote artists and musicians by telling their story in print and with online content.
Each year we select a city that we feel deserves a little light shined on it. We then go out and meet artists and business owners, and find local bands. All of which are doing everything they can to absolutely dominate the industry. Some are on the struggle bus, some are on the upside, all of them are just figuring it out and all of them deserve to have their story shared with the world. That's where we come in. It's a little push that spreads the message and hopefully helps them take flight. (We love the bird puns where can).
We believe that without artists, musicians, street buskers, performers, designers, graffiti; our world would be pretty flat and gray looking. We also believe that their stories are truly inspiring in every way. How does someone take something that they love, or can't help themselves but to do, and make it such a part of their life that it is put on display? Whether it's for private display or public, we're curious about their story and just how they do it. Maybe that story will inspire another creator or remind someone just how far they've come.
We can't stand the majority of systems, organizations, and publications in place that force artists to pay to have their work featured or to enter a competition just to have the same top 40 people take the prize. We aim to mitigate that by really listening and relaying the stories that matter.
